January

The preschoolers have been busy learning about winter. We love the book "Cuddly Dudley" and have enjoyed playing with colored ice that we froze ourselves.

We have been busy practicing a dance for the school talent show on Tues Jan 22. We look forward to performing for our mommies and daddies.

We loved dressing up as prince's and princess' on multiple day. Miss Kelly was the queen!!!

Preschool Happenings

We have enjoyed celebrating the fall. We especially liked talking about Thanksiving. The children liked singing about a Turkey and enjoyed the book 'Thanksgiving Is Here.' Sponge painting big leaf cutouts was a fun project for everyone.

Christmas is the next big thing we will celebrate. On Dec. 5th it is 'Spirit of Christmas Day.' The children can come dressed in festive wear. We will also do some decorations to hang in the room.

The children have been practicing hard for the Christmas program and are looking forward to the evening when they can perform for their parents. This will be on Dec. 7th. @ 19:00. The Christmas story has had a part in getting ready for the program. The children like listening to the story and help telling it. We love singing 'Away in the Manger. '

Here is a finger play we like to do.

Five Little Bells

Five little bells hanging in a row

The first one said 'ring me slow.'

The second one said 'ring me fast.'

The third one said 'ring me last'

the fourth one said 'I'm like a chime.'

The fifth one said 'ring me at christmastime.'

Happy Holidays

Welcome to Preschool!

In Preschool we sing songs, do finger plays, read stories, learn our letters and numbers, have Bible stories and prayer time, explore the outdoors.

We just finished our Easter theme. We learned about Jesus’ death and resurrection. We discussed that we can talk to Jesus even though we can’t see Him or talk to Him on the phone.

Spring is our theme for April. We will talk about rain and flowers growing. Going on walks to see plants blooming will also feature in this month’s theme. Splishing and splashing in water will be fun as we talk about rain. Aprils showers bring May flowers.

May brings Mothers Day. We will celebrate Mothers day by having a tea party. ‘Miss Spiders Tea Party’ will help us get in the mood for our own party.

Insects and bugs are also an interesting part of May. How many ants will there be crawling on the sidewalk? How many legs does a spider have? Does the magnifying glass make things look bigger or smaller?

For our final month of school, which is June, we will act out fairy tales like the ‘Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. As many of us go away for summer vacation we will also ‘visit’ other places and discuss what we might take on our vacation.

Finger plays
A little yellow cup
A little yellow frill
A little yellow star
And that’s a Daffodil

This is my garden I’ll rake it will care
And then some flower seeds I’ll plant there
I’ll wait for the sun to shine and the rain to fall
And then my garden will grow straight and tall
