In Preschool we sing songs, do finger plays, read stories, learn our letters and numbers, have Bible stories and prayer time, explore the outdoors.
We just finished our Easter theme. We learned about Jesus’ death and resurrection. We discussed that we can talk to Jesus even though we can’t see Him or talk to Him on the phone.
Spring is our theme for April. We will talk about rain and flowers growing. Going on walks to see plants blooming will also feature in this month’s theme. Splishing and splashing in water will be fun as we talk about rain. Aprils showers bring May flowers.
May brings Mothers Day. We will celebrate Mothers day by having a tea party. ‘Miss Spiders Tea Party’ will help us get in the mood for our own party.
Insects and bugs are also an interesting part of May. How many ants will there be crawling on the sidewalk? How many legs does a spider have? Does the magnifying glass make things look bigger or smaller?
For our final month of school, which is June, we will act out fairy tales like the ‘Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. As many of us go away for summer vacation we will also ‘visit’ other places and discuss what we might take on our vacation.
Finger plays
A little yellow cup
A little yellow frill
A little yellow star
And that’s a Daffodil
This is my garden I’ll rake it will care
And then some flower seeds I’ll plant there
I’ll wait for the sun to shine and the rain to fall
And then my garden will grow straight and tall
